Some statistics about the Kulla Family (the Anna-family line)

Today there are about 6,000 known descendants of Anna Nilsdotter, who was born in 1693. About as many men as women, and about half of them still being alive today. The most common occupations occur within agriculture, such as farmers, farm tenants with fixity to tenure, yeoman, gardeners, fruit-growers and crofters, altogether about 250.

Those at sea were also quite many, for example sailors, sea-captains, mates, skippers, stokers and fishermen, about, about 130.

Miners, coal-miners and mill-workers also made up as a big group, but within this specific family line, only about 20.

On the other hand, there were many craftsmen such as carpenters and cabinet-makers, painters, bricklayers, harness-makers (saddlers), maker of slippers, lumberjacks, millers, shoemakers, blacksmiths, building contractors, block makers, pipe-layers, seamstresses, coach-makers and millers – altogether about 50.

There were also many service occupations: teachers (male and female), nurses, trades people, clerks (salesmen –women), drivers, housekeepers, butchers, bank managers, hotel managers, policemen, operators and hairdressers/barbers – about 150.

There were also a couple of hundreds of maids and farm boys within different categories.

These 6,000 persons have married 3,000 persons, as a total that makes 9,000 persons.

The average age for those who grew older than 15 years is 68,8 years (men 67,4 and women 70,3). Six of them lived to be over a hundred (100) years old, all of them women. The oldest of this family line, Siri Jönsson, was born in 1902 and died 2009. She grew to be almost 107 years old. One woman gave birth to 14 children and 4 women gave birth to 13 children.

The most common female names are: Maria/Marie 270, Anna 250, Elisabet(h) 200, Johanna/Hanna 160, Eva 120, Christina/Kristina 110, Karin 110, Margareta 90, Linnea 90 and Birgitta 80.

The most common male names are: Nils 200, Joh(a)n180, Anders 170, Erik 160, Pet(t)er 150, Pe(h)r 150, Lars 140, Johannes 135, Karl/Carl 130, Gustav 110, Lennart 110, Sven 80, Bemgt 80.
